I grew up as a dancer and movement was and is a vital source of comfort for me.When things are in flux I feel safe. The mirror mobiles embody that inherent motion. They also honor and track my journey and relationship with my body. Instead of breaking down my body through critical analysis in a mirror, I sever the mirror itself. Using mirrors I find in the trash, I break the mirror with abandon into fragments and sand down the edges so they are safe to handle. Steel fishing wire is embedded between two pieces of mirror that are joined with mirror adhesive.
